*F*O*R**S*A*L*E*

This is an ADORABLE ... *vintage* ... mid-century, tailored, A-line, short-sleeved polka dot dress. This gorgeous oriental-inspired, party dress is white with light gray dots and trimmed with black velvet along the collar, front and sleeves.

This dress is in great condition, in my inspection I did find a couple small, light imperfections, which I only saw because I was searching and staring hard at it.

SIZE: 9. REMEMBER: This. IS. Vintage. So check the measurements below to be sure this dress is for you. Measurement Information: The dress has zero "give." The measurements of the model are as follows:

Bust: 36" (ish)
Waist: 28"
Hips: 36" (ish)

The dress fits the model pretty snug (as you can see in the pictures) and fits a 34D bra size (if that helps). Let me know if you have more questions, I'm happy to answer them.

Dress Maker: Unknown.

Working 9 to 5!

Since being laid of early this year (January '09 to be exact) I've been really trying to make it on my own. Avoiding the "cube" ... instead of gleaming it. Ok... bad old Christian Slater movie reference. But, BOY did I think he was HOT in that movie. I bet if I went back and watched it again, I might throw up a little in my mouth...

Anyhoo...
Avoiding the cube. Back the the main point of this blog.

For all my working days, working for other people, I've felt stifled. Never feeling like I quite fit in with the lot of them, because well, it's not common for others to skip and sing through the halls... but for me? Yeah. I do that. And such behavior is not always welcome... particularly in stuffy engineering firm halls.

So, once laid off, I said to myself, I said, "Self... you've got creativity, talent and supplies to make this happen all on your own. So, let's go for it!"

The problem with this revelation is that now I need OTHERS to see what I got and that what I got is GOOD and now my mission is to make them, YOU, aware of what I have to offer and why I'm different than the rest.

I offer handmade goods. Of course, I'm not the only one. What I can tell you is that, not taking away from what others do, my handmade goods are my "babies." I spend probably too much time making each piece because it's important to me they're made well and look as perfect as can be.

When selecting my supplies, I only buy artificial flowers that are made from quality materials that are soft or appealing in someway to the touch. If under any circumstance they're not soft and appealing, I've bought them because I'm desperate for a specific color. For example, it's VERY difficult to find quality black and blue flowers... thought you should know.

I've rambled plenty on the subject, but in closing I'm setting a small goal.

My small goal is as follows:

I would like to sell one, only ONE, flower every hour from 9 to 5 from Monday through Friday. That's IT! That's only 40 flowers a week. I am not trying to get rich, my only goal is to support my two children and ... AVOID THE CUBE!

You can find my FABULOUS products at DOLLFACE DAMES.

That is all. And if you've made it this far, THANK YOU for reading!

Boy!

Did you just e-booty call a perfect stranger?! Do I look like someone who does this? Seriously?

In case you missed any sarcasm ... the answer is no.

Is that how your mama raised you to treat women?

I guess it's all over my face that I like strange, younger men to dirty talk, no strings attached into the night. Word most have gotten around about that random morning call on Mother's Day years back ....

HoYeah. I'm finally home. I just took a 4 hour nap. Now what to do. What to do. I'll start by mentally preparing for what needs to happen tomorrow and throughout the week.

  • I need to prepare and gather things for a makeup trail on Friday.

  • I need to gather my graphic samples for an interview on Wednesday for a place that, while being a "soul-sucking regular job," seems to be for a pretty awesome company and with awesome people right near Pike Place Market. Awesome sounding, I know.

  • I need to finally get the images of the vintage clothing and new hair accessories up on my website and Etsy.

  • I need to prepare for the Indie Banditas Bazaar on June 5 & 6 located on Bainbridge Island (see image).

  • I need to find a smashing outfit for the Tempting Tarts "Spunk & Sparkle" show on Wednesday, May 13 @ 7pm & 8:30pm @ The Rendezvous/Jewel Box Theater in Seattle. You should be there and support us. Seriously. I won't be performing this month, but will be in June's show. I will be there to support my lady friends and burlesque cohorts and I'll likely be showing & selling my darling Dollface Dames hair flowers.
Ok, consider yourself updated on my organic to-do list for the week. Tah!

Doin' what I do ...

10:13 pm. We're leaving for 10 days tomorrow. I still need to pack and, ideally, clean. I'm guessing it's going to come down to me saying, "Fuck the cleaning" ... like I typically do. Do I REEEEEEALLY need a clean house when I come home? It's nice, but not totally critical to the mission.
